February is about contemplating: How do you create and connect with Spirit and connect on a heart level?

February is going to be a sobering month for many of us. We are being asked to settle into what is true for us, and in order to know what is true for us we need to experience contrasting life events. We are challenged to how we connect to our spirituality and how we honor it. A very basic yet powerful human need is the need for a connection between the physical and invisible realms. Tune in to February's Monthly Energy Update for ALL the details of the Energy Ahead!

February's Themes are covered in detail in the video:
  1. Gulping Down Realities Made to Date - Learning how to digest and surrender to the lessons so we can fall into abundance.
  2. Solar Plexus Inversion Vortex  - The gates to the heart open to teaching you your level of compassion.
  3. Signs Will Be Vivid & LOUD - Challenge how you receive signs and open your heart to what you need.
  4. Energy Systems respond to Shockwaves - Shockwaves remove what needs to be released and allow the mind to catch up.
The Dark Side of Love:

February is the month of love, yet many feel love's dark side. So, what is the dark side of love? Let’s start with the question of why we must suffer through life. This is a common question for anyone who experiences pain in any form. In reality, everyone learns through suffering. It’s written in our stories ofovercoming obstacles. It’s written in dogma, passed through communities, families, and onto the next generation. How we speak to ourselves helps us understand the story's origin. Our words explain it all, such as "my heart is broken", and "I could never love another as I loved him or her" Trust me, we all play these parts in our lives. We switch from being the victim to the one doing the abuse to the one that rescues ourselves from "danger." The trick is realizing the paradox between the mind and heart.

The heart will always flow with our condition of love. What is your condition in love? The dark side of love realizes that we hold ourselves hostage, thinking that it holds more power over the grace of our hearts. The mind tells you NO while your heart longs to express unconditional love in a conditional world. The shadow side of our hearts is where we hold our deepest empowerment and faith. Let me explain through a living example:

On 1/22, I rushed my 15.5 yr old dog Roxy to the emergency room. She was breathing heavily, and I knew this might be the end. I calmed my breath to keep myself centered in a chaotic time. She nudged me and I felt the nudge go straight into my heart. 15.5 years of pure love and companionship was about to come to a drastic end. It was pouring rain driving down the highway into Boston in hopes she could live another day. But my love guided me to stay calm and review with my mind the love and joy we have had together for so long. My mind screamed NOOOOOOO over and over again. I felt my heart race inresponse. I petted her softly and continued to calm my mind. I opened my heart to the dark side of love. The place where we make decisions unconditionally. Unconditionally means it may not turn out the way you wanted, but it turns out exactly how it should be.

The veterinarian confirmed my darkest pain, heart failure or cancer. Both of which had the same result. I screamed in agony and the Veterinarian knew I would make the right choice for my girl. She passed peacefully in my arms at 10:22 pm on 1/22. I held her limp body till 11:22 pm to honor the amazing journey we had together. I’ve spent days in ceremonies to honor her journey, doing her death rites, and offering my love to spirit with deep gratitude for sending such a precious gift—my soul pup. I screamed and cried till my eyes were swollen shut.

The dark side of love is listening to the heart speak while feeling to it cradle you even while your mind screams another tune. My ancestors always say, "you no longer need to suffer as you have". I believe this is a message for all of humanity. By embracing the dark side of love, you embrace the divine light that is born from it. If you can be with your darkest pain and learn to listen to the heart alone, you will find the light born from that space.

A Shaman knows to do his or her sacred work daily. In moments of tremendous pain, I was reminded of how we learn through suffering. That suffering is the gateway to the dark side of love. When you open those gates, your love becomes unconditional. We no longer need to suffer the same way because it reflects our condition of love.

Love deeply, love fearlessly, and love your suffering so the gates of deepest love can be born from that darkness. We all so desperately need each other. It is the way of our species. We are a species of love, just as the animals, trees, plants, bacteria, and stones are of love.

So, love deeply, my friends, and find joy in the dark side of love.
